About

Kim Stevens is a Registered Nurse with 26 years of practice, who began her career at a juvenile detention center servicing the misguided and underserved teenage population in Compton, California. I later transitioned her practice to emergency medicine for both the pediatric and adult population. In 2011, I graduated from Walden University with an MSN specializing in Nursing Informatics and practiced as a Nurse consultant for Howard University Hospital, Southern Regional Hospital and The George Washington University Hospital. I have a Doctorate in Nursing Practice with a focus on Informatics. Improving user’s experience with the usability of information systems and clinical applications is my focus.

I currently practice as a Senior Clinical Informaticist for the Cerner corporation. In addition, I am CEO and Founder for a Nursing Informatics consulting group, that provide coaching for organizations, and new Nursing Informatics professional.  I am also a Limited Term Lecturer for Purdue University Northwest, College of Nursing, where I enjoy improving nursing student’s knowledge on the practice on Information technology, Nurse Science and Computer Science. I am a member of Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), American Nursing Informatics Association (ANIA), American Nurses Association, SIGMA Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (Gamma Beta Chapter), Society of Nurse Scientists, Innovators, Entrepreneurs & Leaders and The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS).

I am married and the mother of 6 children. 3, I delivered and 3, was gifted. Love to garden and playing the flute.
